Gold Banded Forester Butterfly

Gold-banded Forester

Gold-banded Forester

The striking iridescent Gold Banded forester butterfly is native to Eastern and Southern Africa. When I first saw a photograph of one, I didn’t think it was real – it seemed so perfect. I knew I had to paint one, just needed the right setting. The piece of driftwood and rusted iron chain beautifully compliment its colours.
